Assessing the Feasibility of Cogeneration Retrofit for Heating and Electricity Demands in Marine Diesel Engines

In the marine engineering industry, turbocharged diesel engines are often used to generate electricity, and hot oil can be extracted after generating electricity. However, engine heat recovery distinguished from gas for nonturbocharged systems. The ideal air model Brayton cycle is evaluate feasibility of turbocharged/nonturbocharged cogeneration retrofits in systems, paper designed effect pressure temperature cooling ratio exergy efficiency. results show that performance work increases with increasing until it reaches a maximum value decreases at constant temperature. If an electric generator selected first, turbocharger improve contract heating electricity needs. While efficiency priorly, retrofit demands without system.
